How do I create and use a Soul ID character?

This Higgsfield help article explains Soul ID, a character you train once on photos of one person so the same face appears in every Soul generation, whatever the preset, light, angle or prompt. You train it under Soul with Train new character from 20 to 80 photos; a smaller set of clean, well-lit, varied shots beats a large inconsistent one. The same character can go into Seedance video as an Element, but expect clearly the same person rather than a pixel-identical face, and only one person per Soul ID, so scenes with several characters need Elements.

  • ★★★ Soul ID is the character-consistency layer of Higgsfield's Soul models: trained once on photos of one person, it applies that face to every generation regardless of preset, lighting, angle or prompt; everything else in the shot follows the prompt. · Soul ID, Soul
  • ★★ A trained Soul ID works across the whole Soul model family. · Soul ID, Soul
  • ★★★ Higgsfield says a reference image anchors only a single generation and drifts across separate ones, while Soul ID trains a reusable identity once and holds it across generations, styles and angles without re-uploading. · Soul ID
  • ★★★ To train a Soul ID, open higgsfield.ai, go to Soul and select Train new character, then upload 20 or more photos of the same person (up to 80 supported). · Soul ID, Soul
  • ★★ After uploading, start Soul ID training (it takes a few minutes), name the character, then select the trained character in the Character tab when generating. · Soul ID
  • ★★★ For Soul ID training, Higgsfield advises high-quality, well-lit photos showing the face from different angles and expressions, with no sunglasses, heavy shadows or cropped faces, at least one full-height photo and recent photos for the most accurate likeness. · Soul ID
  • ★★ Higgsfield's Soul ID guide says to upload only photos of yourself or of someone who has given permission to use their likeness. · Soul ID
  • ★★ Photos that hurt a Soul ID: the same pose repeated, heavy shadows or harsh lighting, outdated photos when appearance has changed (recent means the last 4 to 5 months), head shots only, sunglasses, hats or scarves covering the face, and group shots. · Soul ID
  • ★★★ Higgsfield says training quality determines a Soul ID's output quality: a smaller set of clean, varied photos outperforms a large set of inconsistent ones. · Soul ID

“a smaller set of clean, varied photos outperforms a large set of inconsistent ones”

  • ★★★ A Soul ID character can be used in Seedance video generation as an Element: trained Soul characters appear in Elements automatically; to add one manually, generate an image of the character, open it in Assets and select Create Element from the three-dot menu. · Soul ID, Seedance, Elements, Soul

  • ★★ To use a Soul ID character in Seedance, click @ Elements under the prompt field (or type @ in the prompt) and pick it from My Elements, which also lists your uploads and past generations. · Seedance, Elements, Soul ID
  • ★★★ Higgsfield says to expect "clearly the same person" from Soul ID rather than a pixel-identical face: weak photo sets give weak identities, and extreme style shifts or unusual angles can bring small drift even with a well-trained identity. · Soul ID
  • ★★★ A Soul ID holds one person; for scenes with two or more consistent characters, Higgsfield advises Elements. · Soul ID, Elements
  • ★★ A trained Soul ID stays inside Higgsfield, used in the Soul models and connected tools, and cannot be exported as a standalone file. · Soul ID, Soul
  • ★★ Higgsfield names AI influencers and UGC creators as a main use of Soul ID, one consistent face across outfits, settings and aesthetics; to invent the character first, it points to AI Influencer Studio. · Soul ID, AI Influencer Studio
  • ★★ Higgsfield also names fashion and clothing brands (virtual lookbooks, seasonal campaigns, product showcases, paired with Marketing Studio for ad production) as a use of Soul ID. · Soul ID, Marketing Studio
  • ★★★ For an invented character, Higgsfield advises generating a set of portraits of one face first and then training a Soul ID on them. · Soul ID
  • ★★ When a Soul ID's likeness is weak, Higgsfield advises retraining on a stronger set: swap out repeated poses and shadowed shots, add a full-height photo and keep the whole set in one consistent look. · Soul ID
