In this behind-the-scenes video, made on the day Seedance 2.0 went live on Higgsfield, Adil and the four directors of Arena Zero explain how they built the episode from a script in four days. They made the characters in Soul Cinema, and Seedance 2.0 finally gave Hoko her voice and emotions; a circular arena stayed consistent from every angle, a trick Adil recommends for any location at scale. After an anime scene from three prompts and a planet-destroying finale, the directors advise leaving Seedance 2.0 room to surprise you, and Adil sums up that AI filmmaking is no shortcut, just a different pipeline.

The parts of the video and what is said in each (★ — how much it matters to the video).

00:00:00 — Arena Zero clips and the episode's numbers

  • ★★★ Adil says Seedance 2.0, one of the most requested models in AI filmmaking, is live as of the video's day, exclusively on Higgsfield. — 00:00:09 · Seedance 2.0, Higgsfield AI
  • ★★ Adil says Arena Zero, which he calls the world's first AI series, is ten minutes long and was made by four people in four days with around 5,000 generations. — 00:00:09

00:00:22 — Intro: Seedance 2.0 live on Higgsfield, the four directors

  • ★★ Adil says good tools do not make good films; good ideas do. — 00:00:42

00:01:20 — Where the idea came from: monsters, isekai, script first, four days

  • ★★ a guest: An Arena Zero director from Kazakhstan says the idea grew from his love of monsters, which he saved on Instagram and Pinterest, and from talks with his colleague Michael about monsters fighting an ordinary person. — 00:01:23 · Instagram
  • ★★ a guest: A second Arena Zero director says he was a big fan of anime, especially isekai, and of action comics; the two combined their ideas and began writing the script. — 00:02:12
  • ★★ a guest: An Arena Zero director says the series followed classic production order: script writing first, then characters, set design and style; some of the team made characters and locations while others wrote. — 00:02:41
  • ★★ a guest: An Arena Zero director says the episode took about four days: two days of generating and creating the story and two of post-production, meaning editing, color grading, music and sound design. — 00:03:11 · Color grading
  • ★★ a guest: An Arena Zero director says pre- and post-production were like traditional filmmaking and only production differed; you still need pre-production homework before you start generating. — 00:03:40

00:03:58 — Character making: Soul Cinema, Hoko, Ziki and the language of planet Gnid

  • ★★ Adil says every Arena Zero character was built in Soul Cinema, which he credits with cinematic lighting, real texture and film-level detail. — 00:04:18 · Soul Cinema
  • ★★ a guest: An Arena Zero director says the characters look authentic because they came from the team's own ideas, and storytelling such as the humour in their lines is still work done by people. — 00:04:51
  • ★ a guest: An Arena Zero director says Hoko, the hero's supporting character inspired by a TV show called Happy (as heard), was one of the easiest characters to make. — 00:05:16
  • ★★★ a guest: An Arena Zero director says the team could not get Hoko's voice right over many iterations and thought of dubbing her themselves, until Seedance 2.0 gave her voice, personality and emotions. — 00:05:45 · Seedance 2.0
  • ★★ a guest: An Arena Zero director says the audience's favourite, Ziki, works because of his depth: he is evil and entertaining at the same time. — 00:06:21
  • ★ a guest: An Arena Zero director says they first wanted something like Serbian for the language of the people of planet Gnid, then found how those people sound in each situation. — 00:06:47

00:07:31 — Building the locations: 60 apartments and the circular arena

  • ★★ Adil says the Arena Zero team went through 60 options for Leo's apartment in about 10 minutes without leaving the desk, where scouting real apartments at an hour each would take one and a half work weeks. — 00:07:33
  • ★★ Adil says Cinema Studio 3.0 easily creates large-scale, detailed environments such as the Arena Zero stadium where creatures from different planets fight like gladiators. — 00:08:02
  • ★★ a guest: An Arena Zero director says the team would never otherwise have had the budget or the time for a location of the arena's scale. — 00:08:27
  • ★★★ a guest: An Arena Zero director says they chose a circular arena as homage to gladiator films and because a circular structure let them iterate many times and keep the arena consistent from all angles. — 00:08:54
  • ★★★ Adil advises anyone struggling with location consistency at scale to make the location circular. — 00:09:17
  • ★★ Adil says Arena Zero's full-anime scene was created with just three prompts. — 00:09:23
  • ★★ Adil says the anime scene was not in Arena Zero's original draft; without it the film felt off, and a short 35-second addition made everything make sense. — 00:09:23

00:09:26 — The anime scene in three prompts

  • ★★ a guest: An Arena Zero director says an anime sequence was the easiest and quickest way to put viewers into the context of the story's unusual planet and its background. — 00:10:15
  • ★★ a guest: An Arena Zero director says that in this kind of filmmaking you are not only the director but also stylist and set designer at once, trying iterations until you find the right choice, which he calls creative freedom. — 00:10:45
  • ★★ a guest: An Arena Zero director tells viewers to stay tuned for episode two of the series. — 00:11:30
  • ★★ Adil says in Arena Zero's finale Seedance 2.0 went beyond the directors' expectations with destruction at scale, weather, lighting and collapsing structures that would cost a fortune to shoot practically. — 00:11:30 · Seedance 2.0

00:11:41 — The finale: destroying planet Gnid; the directors' prompting tip

  • ★★ Adil says the Arena Zero directors wanted an animated tournament bracket with all fighters' portraits for the ending but ran out of time; it is the one thing they would change. — 00:11:58
  • ★★★ Passing on a tip from the Arena Zero directors, Adil advises not to overload Seedance 2.0 when generating video: it follows prompts well but also makes unique creative decisions, so leave it room to surprise you. — 00:12:27 · Seedance 2.0
  • ★★★ Adil says the four directors of Arena Zero proved that AI filmmaking is no shortcut, just a different pipeline. — 00:12:27

“AI filmmaking is no shortcut. It's just a different pipeline.”
